I. Job Summary





Participate
in a business operations and leadership development program over a span of
24-36 months consisting of 6-9 month rotations across various operational
groups within Waste Management’s National Accounts Division (including Operations,
Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance). Rotational assignments will include
understanding and performing business processes along with driving improvements
in operations, process management, and systems. Rotations could also include special business projects and prescribed
learning.



II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. Other
minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location and rotation.








+ Perform business duties/processes
as required by assigned rotational area.




+ Conduct business process analysis
& redesign including responsibilities for process mapping, data
analysis, side-by-side observation, presentation building, and
communication to business of identified problems and solutions.




+ Perform project management of
process improvement projects including creating project plans, tracking and
communicating status of projects, and managing risks/issues.




+ Create standard operations
procedures (SOP) and training material related to ongoing operations and process
improvements.




+ Works with business stakeholders to
ensure adoption of process changes are effectively and efficiently rolled
out.




+ Participate in special projects as
assigned.








III. Supervisory Responsibilities







This job has no supervisory duties but
may occasionally assign activities to other employees as individual projects
demand.



IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience







+ Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of
degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work
experience.



+ Experience: No prior work experience required.



B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements







+ None required.



C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required







+ Proven
record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular
activities



+ Self-driven
and adaptable with the ability to work independently with limited supervision



+ Ability
to communicate complex ideas effectively and work in teams with people at all
levels in an organization

+ Emotional
intelligence and ability to energize others



+ Ability
to travel up to 10%
