Develops and conducts programs to train all employees as needed
in service repairs, installation, programming, safety, maintenance, for both
chassis and engines of Class 5-8 diesel vehicles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (responsibilities are not listed in priority order)
1 Instruct Diesel Technicians on service, safety, installation, programming, maintenance
and repair of Class 5 8 diesel vehicles, following outline, handouts, and testing.
2 Demonstrate correct procedures and processes of the company.
3 Confer with management, technicians and/or Training Coordinator to determine training objectives.
4 Develop and monitor course curriculum as needed for evolution of the training paths.
5 Write training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and design laboratory exercises.
6 Collaborate with Training Coordinator to schedule classes based on need, classroom and equipment availability.
7 Observe trainees in both shop and classroom settings to answer trainees’ questions.
8 Administer written and practical exams and write performance reports to evaluate trainees’ performance.
9 Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training
facility and integrate information into training program. Additional hours and some travel will be necessary.
10 Routinely, or as needed, visit each dealership to meet with Service Managers and technicians.
11 Ensure program compliance with DTNA Dealer Trainer requirements.
12 Assist in developing a positive attitude for our employees.
13 Support and encourage technicians as they work through their training plans.
14 Be skilled in the following areas:

15 Maintain regular onsite attendance as scheduled.
16 Any other job duties as may be delegated by management.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
1 Ability to sit for long periods of time in a fast-paced indoor environment.
2 Ability to work under conditions of periodic mental stress.
3 Ability to concentrate on several issues at the same time.
4 Ability to problem-solve, interpret data, organize and plan.
5 Ability to communicate by speaking and writing.
6 Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated.
7 Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 15 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
1 Associate’s degree (AS) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school
2 Must have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
3 Ability to travel as needed to acquire certifications along with training to meet company goals.
4 Must be comfortable with public instruction in shop and classroom environments.
5 Must be organized and possess excellent time management skills.
6 Must be accurate with information and reporting.
7 Must be skilled in customer service relations and act in a professional manner in all facets of customer service including professional email etiquette.
8 Must have a passion for learning and teaching and thrive in a team environment.
9 Present neat, clean, professional appearance of self and use proper business etiquette.
10 Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
11 Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and Class 5-8 Diesel Vehicle OEM certifications.
12 Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internet software & database software.
