Pay is $18/hourly! 

KEOLIS is hiring a Payroll Clerk in our Reno location.

Position Summary:


Payroll Clerk compiles and records employee’s time and payroll data. May compute employees' time worked, production and commissions. May compute and post wages and deductions or prepare paychecks.

 

Core Competencies/Responsibilities:


  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, checking/savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Poll electronic time clocks (DCS time software) and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process monthly union pension
  • Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments
  • Prepares special reports for senior management
  • Maintains payroll and related records recording the accumulation and use of vacations, PTO, sick days, and miscellaneous leaves of absence. 
  • Process requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations.
  • Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

 

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as Payroll Clerk 
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles
  • Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. ADP)
  • Exquisite math and numerical skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
  • High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in accounting/business administration is a plus
